School Days

We are 2 weeks into the new school year and decided to make some fun photos.

Our "theme" was kind of 80's cool rock

I guess the theme turned into more "silly girls"

but I got them none the less...

Miss Kindergarten

Miss 2nd grade

this year is already shaping up for some crazy fun times.

*random? Yes.

*Yes, she climbs up the stairs all the time...

Fortunately she does not try to come down - she just stands at the top and yells.

*So thankful for sweet neighbors who give me more tomatoes than I could possibly grow myself

and that I learned this year how to make sauce

(After I put about a half gallon of tomato soup in the freezer)

* I spent 2 weeks babying a sourdough starter

I made bread twice, pancakes and waffles...

and then I threw it away because my kids kept complaining that everything tasted funny

*Here is the game scene lately

*We have decided that these eyes are dangerous

*When you walk down our stairs wearing a dress you instantly become a princess

* I can not hit that birdie to save my life

the only one who can in our house is Dad

but we try

and I am sure our neighbors enjoy it

*These crazy guys cover the sides of our house

it's so crazy

*This girl knows how to shop.

I have to stop every once and a while to empty her lap of everything she has taken off the shelves

Girl has gotta get to know Dave Ramsey

*picture his at least a thousand times every day

* School is in session

We took a field trip to the fire station to see a friend

It was so fun

Here are 8 things I loved about this trip....

I wish we had a heat vision mask at our house

Kindergarten and 2nd grade is going to rock

*It's a good thing we are prepared because we have another princess in the house

Just a moment

My favorite thing about this summer

is the way the girls disappear out into the evening light

Swinging slowly with ice cream cones or running around in their nightgowns

memories don't get any better than this

I smile past the guilt of dirty dishes and so many distracted moments of the day
and grab my camera to grab a moment ,
a feeling I wish I could hold on to forever

Being together under this Hot evening sun
running around in the grass the cares of the day slip away.

Watching them I remember what it was like in my own childhood summers
and the freedom found in long grass and sinking sunshine
and smile again....
and hope I never forget.

Party

She was ever so careful

with the cake. 

Not really sure what to do with it.

She tasted it and smiled, 

then gave everyone else

at the party a taste too.

Yummy treats were enjoyed by all 

including our first try at cake pops
and some amazing homemade ice cream.

Happy Birthday dearest baby!

Last week we celebrated C's first birthday. How is it possible for someone to change so much in one year. As a collection this really show so much of her personality. Looks like we may get to keep those kissable cheeks a bit longer.

Life keeps moving right along

At this moment the house is still (quite a rare occurrence these days) and quite (unheard of).
These moments are rare and priceless.

It seems every day as of late brings changes, some big and some small. Someday I will have the words to write about the wild ride we are on, but today is not for that. Today is for lighthearted small talk. Baby C continually amazes us. I love how every baby is so unique and no matter how many you raise it's so exciting to watch them hit each milestone.

7 Months - pulling up on everything

smiles sweetly and chatters in baby talk continually

8 months- develops super vision able to see every piece of trash in the house
                                develops super speed
                                  enjoys a wide variety of foods (favorites include bits of leaf, tissues, and string)
                                  discovers that drawers open and that older sisters room has the best toys
                                  cruises the furniture and uses toys as stepladders
                                  learns she can roll down the steps
Has learned how to disappear like lightning

what a difference a month can make........

Yesterday afternoon my oldest baby suddenly grew up when she got her first pair of glasses. Not only does she look like me but she got my near-sighted genes as well.

Boy was she excited to get them.

It took her approximately 3 min. to choose the perfect frames.

The 2 of us celebrated with ginormous ice cream cones and orange soda.

and if that's not cute enough....
