a hot day for the zoo

 merrygoround
It's been hot here in the south, very hot. The kind of hot that makes you want to hide in the house or stand under the hose and pretend your getting your children wet. HOT HOT HOT.
This week we happened to choose the hottest day of the summer (so far) to visit the zoo.
I'm glad we got to go, we enjoyed being out with my Mom and seeing God's amazing creativity. I can't help but be in awe of the fact that we can go to a place right here in our town and see real life animals from all over the world. I can't believe we can watch a pack of zebras run, monkeys swing around, be inches away from a snake big enough to swallow a small child (hooray for safety glass).
mapgirl
This is "mapgirl", she was our fearless leader and tour guide. With map in hand she made sure we knew which way to go and what we needed to see next. Mapgirl gives a great tour she does however like to keep things moving along rather quickly.

At 3 and 5 this is how big the girls are compared to an elephants footprint.

Because someday that might be really important.......
